How do you create Trust in Global Development?

You create trust in Global Development by spending time with the people who you would like to support.                                                                               

It makes a significant impact on the outcome of a project depending on how well you do the following:

• Show up often at the sites where you are working and support local staff

• Provide clear expectations and follow-through

• Do not promise anything you cannot deliver

• Be humble

• Ask questions and listen carefully

• Give positive feedback

In my experience, trust makes the difference in whether a community agrees to partner with a project or not.  If trust is not sufficiently reached, then the community will not trust to try new and innovative approaches.
